Our commitment

ArachnidWorks believes the web should work for everyone. We are committed to making arachnidworks.com usable for visitors of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers, keyboard navigation, or browser zoom.

The standard we work toward

We aim to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. WCAG is the most widely recognized international standard for web accessibility, covering areas like text readability, color contrast, keyboard operability, and compatibility with assistive technology.

We have not undergone a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance. We use tools like Google Lighthouse during development to evaluate our work and surface issues as we go. Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix.

What we do

In practice, this means we work to:

  • Use semantic HTML so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can interpret the structure of our pages.
  • Provide descriptive alternative text for images that convey meaningful information.
  • Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background, in line with WCAG AA contrast ratios.
  • Build pages that can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse or trackpad.
  • Use clear, descriptive link text so visitors understand where a link goes before clicking it.
  • Structure content with proper headings, lists, and landmarks so it can be scanned and parsed predictably.

Known limitations

Some content on our site may not yet meet the standard above. This includes:

  • Embedded third-party content such as videos, social feeds, and maps, where we have limited control over the experience.
  • Older content, including legacy case studies and news posts, that predates our current accessibility practices.
  • Documents we link to (PDFs and similar) that were created before our current standards were in place.

We are working to address these over time as we update content and rebuild parts of the site.
